The Australian Dollar is the currency used in Australia and is often referred to as the ‘Aussie’ by foreign exchange traders and investors.

The currency benefits from the relative freedom the foreign exchange market receives from the Australian government and the country’s political stability. Australia’s location near the burgeoning economies of India and China provides great benefit to its currency; the country provides much needed raw materials to Asia which in turn provides the land down under with a steady stream of revenue.

Australia itself is one of the most sparsely populated countries on Earth, with its 22 million people being concentrated mostly on the country’s East coast in the major cities of Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane.
