The Kenyan Shilling is the sole legal tender of the African nation of Kenya. The currency is mostly traded against the US Dollar with the Euro coming in at a close second. The first Kenyan Shillings were introduced into circulation in 1966 when it replaced the East African Shilling, which was the currency used by the then-British-controlled African territory.
